one of my examiners tripped on his way to the piano to do the aural tests. ;D and when i do piano exams i write down the names of the pieces on a piece of paper and give it to the examiner and my examiner said "is this a £100 pound note? i don't take bribes"

Well, I handed my examiner the styles for my Grade 7 scales (I did Guildhall) on a piece of paper, and she looked at it like "What are these?!." Oh and also, she asked me to play a dominant scale (not dominant 7th) in F, and I had to ask her which one as there are 2 types! She obviously didn't know them.

In my exam too, she wouldn't let me put my flute on the piano when doing my aurals so I had to perch it on a stand . I didn't want my £1500 flute to fall off it and break!

I'd never thought of putting my clarinet on the piano for aurals! I usually clutch it in terror!
My first ever exam was a clarinet one when I was about 13/14, and I marched into my exam room, said very cheerful in the circumstances "hello" to the examiner, put my music on the stand and started adjusting it. He then smiled and said "oh you've obvioulsy done this before then" and I said "no, never". He stopped smiling and looked horrified, and didn't even say bye at the end!
I've hated exams ever since, don't know what he said that was so bad, just the fact that he stopped smiling that put me on edge!

Aww, well mine haven't been that exciting. For my Grade 6 though, the person before me had lost her voice, so I had no idea how she did her aurals. She came out crying, bless

I can think of something really embarrassing about my G7 at Christmas. I played all my scales wrong, and messed up sight reading and guessed on the aurals, and she was a really sarcastic examiner saying stuff like "And I gave you the easy one as well" after I played them. She was quite patronising, and I was not amused, and I'd had a stomach bug for the week leading up (so had my friend who was doing G6) so all I wanted to do as to throw myself down a dark hole and stay there! So I went out, and someone asked how it went, and I just burst into tears! Then to make it even worse, my friend's mum grabbed hold of me, made me sit on her knee and kept patting my head and going "there, there" with my friend going "leave her alone mum, stop it your embarrassing her and ME!" Not been that embarassed since!
