I did really badly, i used to walk round in circles saying i was going to die just before exams! But i havent done that recently, since i did my gr 6 sax and piano ive bin better.

i get nervous about violin exams but not piano. i don't know why because i've been playing violin longer and find it easier

i don't usually get nervous before performances or exams - i only do if i have something to worry about like "i can't remember my scales". i panic the day before sometimes but never before the actual performance / exam starts. its not just with music its in every subject that i have taken. ;D

actually, me too! I usually worry before a performance but somehow relaxed during the performance!

i usually relax in a performance if its going well. i find though that with piano exams if i havent played the pieces seconds before i go into the exam i feel really underprepared and feel like i dontknow the piece. anyone else get this?

I suppose you have to practise the piece even more days before the exam to help your confidence.

Hi all. In my experience, and I'm getting old, the day you don't get a few butterflies then that is the time to pack it in. Music creates something 'living' and without passion or nerves then you may as well be playing to a robot audience. Think of all the music that has mattered in history... Jazzking.
