That was the same with me and I think it's enough because not many people in my school are musical so there wasn't really much they could do in music. Now I'm doing GCSE i get 5 hours a fortnight which I don't think is enough. We only had 2 hours a fortnight in year 7 and 8. It's exactly the same now...and we only get an hour a week next year too. It's nowhere near enough...and now our teacher's leaving right in the middle of our course. GrRrRRrR. It's no where near enough!

Problem is Sport is much more popular than music. If the sport department need something aswell as teh music department, the music department goes without. Even if there is enough to time and a good teacher, there is no point as there is hardly any equipment.

Our school's a 'sport's college' (what a load of b's...) and we have to do 4 hours of PE plus two hours of PE Theory...now we get to ditch the theory lessons (thank GOD) in favour of...more PE. Horrah.

I'm only good at tennis, but even then I get whopped all the time - a kid called Joe Simmonds-Issler (aka 'the sizzler') has this really powerful serve and he beats everyone... oh well...

I did softball I think...I really whacked it once - and it went miles - but other than then I'm useless too...
And why the hell are we talking about PE? OK, back on task...how about: does your school have more music, drama, art or dance people? Our school has its own dance studio - which is basically a jumped up cupboard with a big mirror - a drama studio - which is a jumped up cupboard with a costume room - and an art block - this is a shed with...er...nope, it's just a shed - but there isn't a specialist music place...seems very unfair...

Drama- uses either the theatre or the maths department for lessons Art- has its own little block of 3 rooms for maxium peace and concentration (until 10.1 gets in there) Dance-uses the theatre of the fooyer Music-has its own section of one main room and 4 practise rooms. It is w=quite good but 50% of standes are broken, all but 2 guitars have all 6 strings, keyboards which have keys missing and several othe bits of broken equipment.

We have 3 working stands in upper school and 4 in lower school! and the vioins have 3 strings at the most! and the keyboards are stuck together with tape! which isn't good when you're trying to play a staccato accompnimant! i messed up my friends prac cos of it!

Our music dept isn't that bad, in fact the worst problem is the guitars are always hideously out of tune - not doubt from year 7s trying to show off...fools.
Another thing is our music dept is in the old gym, so everything's really echo-y and you can hear what everyone else is doing in the other rooms! Not very good if you've got whole class performances either side of you...
