i'm back!! I hope you all missed me! Me and Em were 2nd desk of 2nd violins! We still mimed the bits with lots of notes though! The Brahms was good, even the bits with the demisemiquavers! I could play them! Greensleeves went rather badly cos we'd only played it a few times because it was easy. Nutcracker Suite fell apart because 2nd violins (not me and em ) were poo! The Military March was easy so it went really well. Night on Bare Mountain was HARD! and i played an extra chord in the big rest with the pause over it! The other Tchaikovsky went well, apart from springy bowing which everyone did wrong. We also had to play a piece by one of the important music blokes from the area. but it was a rubbish piece and we messed it up! It was in 5/8. so can you blame us? String players can't do 5/8. The nutcracker suite was just before the interval and i think we sent the conductor over the edge because he was just walking round going "it's fine. it's fine. it's fine"

i've got a hungarian scherzo type thing in 5/8 where quaver = 400, then speeds up to 450. crazy piece of music, totally unplayable and it always wants to slip into 6...
