My favourite is definately baroque! Can't get enough of it lol! Especially on the violin!

me too. classical has no character, romantic is all about melodies and solos and modern is just plain rubbish. of course there are exceptions to the rule (stravinsky's ROS being one) but otherwise... it ba-rocks! get it, baroque, ba-rocks...

Classical, too balanced, clarity annoys me. I feel that the history of musical styles is elliptical and fashions come and go, but romantism & emotions will always be there. Admin is correct about ROS but so much romantic period music creates something living rather that mathmatical. Having said that, I am happy to be woken up by Bach! Aren't we complicated creatures?....I make my point. Love you all!

I can't decided, as I some music from each period. At the moment, I am really enjoying playing Telemann Sonatas on flute, Stuff from the romantic sketchbook on piano and Beethoven on bassoon. I like some music from each of the eras. (I like classical the least, as classical compsers invented scales)

i've got a piece by a late romantic/modern composer (i think that's when he was around) called william hurlstone and i can't get it at all... vivaldi, get it instantly; teacher showed me a telleman piece (sonata in something or another) and i got that pretty easily
