BTW, you can get a B in French by speaking Franglais! I don't know how my friend gt away with it! One of the delightful things about English and French are that they both stem from Latin (at least partly...). An Englsih person, if they tried, could probably work out what a french person said, because the languages are very similar...'layer d'ozone' probably isn't that far off actually! All this makes foreign languages simpler at least...

Couche d'ozone is how you say it really.
I don't think it's that true for french to English and being able to understand it. But with french, spanish, portuguese and Italian it is the case. I have quite good french and limited spanish, but when talking to portuguese people, have a fair idea about what they're saying. Same with Italian, but I havemn't found that many people to test that theory on! Never had the same experience when I was starting to learn french though.
I think now it's equal about how many words they stole from us! We have stuff like café and ambience from french and they have email and website from english!

As far as music goes, Italian is vvverrrryyy important...but yes, english is the international language, and the third most used after Mandarin Chinese (because of the sheer population of China mainly) and Spanish (because of South America).

I'd go ahead and stuff the cwk but you're not going to fail your A levels...am I right in remembering you're doing music? If you're as good at your others as you are at music then it's A's all the way...

also, why on earth did my violin teacher give me such a horrible piece to sightread in my lesson now? there were so many notes the pages were practically black!

Wouldn't it be cool if the page was black and the notes were in white? It would be inverted colour music!!!
