either she scraped a pass on every single section or failed one or more section(s)! She failed her scales and her first piece!

Not to make you feel bad but scales! They're free marks! I warm up every session with at least 2 major and 2 minor scales...that way they become second nature...except for scales like F#/C#/Gb/Cb Major etc.

I don't find scales that easy to get marks on, I have to really work at them to get them right!
I don't play them at all though, unless I have an exam!

There's a boy (Tim) who is an absolute prodigy on piano, can play anything you give him practically, and is better than our head of music. But when I was testing him on his scales, he couldn't play C major.
Scales aren't everything!

Just run your finger up the white notes...I can understyand why you'd not want to play scales but you should still be able to...

OK if you don't want a sore bit on your finger you have to use thumb and three fingers, then thumb goes under etc. but seriously - C Major?

i am seriuos, i prefer B major. i think generally people like having a black note or some sort of pattern to a scale to remember, but with C major, you just go up, and its actually qutie hard

just beacuse a scale has an easy key sig pattern to remember does not mean its easy to play. im serious, do you find C major easy?

There is a boy at our school, he came from Japan in year 10, and he is just amazing at the piano, you should hear some of his compositions, they are just stunning, he is a beautiful player, and doesn't go to other lessons just plays the piano all day! But I have never heard him do any scales or anything.

I find C major easy, it was the first scale I learned! But then I find things like B major harder.
