Yay, I'm a brass player, I play the flugelhorn, though shortly I'm going to be moved to 3rd cornet.....
I think the theory behind all brass instruments (in terms of fingerings) are exactly the same, minus french horn and trombone....

I play trumpet and played cornet when I was very little. Been playing for .... *thinking* ...... almost 9 years. Want to start playing something else soon though. On tour in Germany, I wanted to play a game where my mate stood holding her sax and we tried to through Haribo sweets into it. She wouldn't let us though...never mind.

welcome to the site! yeah, most people don't have the bottle to play brass.
actually, as an aside, in the piece we're playing at BHYP atm (brahms 1) the trumpets get 918 bars rest in the whole piece. whoa.

brahms first symphony's the piece... i figure it's about 1300-1500 bars long in total... in the second movement, the trumpets get literally four notes - two of which are tied together
